Butterflies are symbols of the strength and beauty of Chickasaw women, while the swirling symbol in the background typically means water. A force of nature that can be soft and refreshing but can also bring destruction and cannot be contained in the right circumstances. The red in the butterfly and beaded dress also bring attention to the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women movement. Our Indigenous are forces to be reckoned with despite the challenges we face.
