“Phoenix” is an original pen and ink drawing on illustration board depicting the beautiful, lone bird which lived in ancient times in the Arabian desert for 500 to 600 years and then set itself on fire, rising renewed from the ashes to start another long life; the Cherokee Nation arose from the ashes of the TRAIL OF TEARS, to rebuild a great nation in Oklahoma.
