Artwork Description:

The Dog Soldier was a member of an elite group of Cheyenne warriors. According to traditional lore, the Dog Soldier was the last line of defense and wore a special sash into battle that he would “pin” to the ground and would protect that area to the death. The Dog Soldier headdress is made from hundreds of specially treated turkey feathers and was only worn by members of this elite group of Cheyenne warriors.
